Here are the potential essay questions for the final exam.  These are worth 20-25 points.  Anthony will pick one on the day of the test. These are constructed from past homework questions.

Possible essay question #1: Using philosophical language and categories, define and explain "eternal" as it applies to God. Be sure to include a discussion of His immateriality.  In other words, God as an infinite existence. Consider:

• Friday evening philosophy classes
• outside of time
• limitless
• unchanging 
• all powerful
• immaterial 
• pure spirit with no parts if you have parts then you have limits
• Sheed chapter 4 
• He is eternal and ever present
• looking for prose not just a bunch of bullet points
• 3-5 paragraphs - don't worry about intro; just answer the question

Possible essay question #2: Using philosophical language and categories to define and explain the Persons of the Trinity as they relate to the operations of the intellect and will.  

• Talk about how we know that God is intellect and will?
• How does the Word reflect the intellect?
• How does the Spirit reflect the will? 
• 3 distinct persons
• go with Sheed but can use Ott - both will go deeper than we need to 
• 2 processions: generation and spiration - but we did NOT cover that so don't have to cover this
